A native of Rose Hill, Kansas, Kendall Gammon earned his BSED from Pittsburg State University, where he was a member of the Gorillas football team’s 1991 NCAA Division II National Championship squad, served as team captain his final two years, and was voted most inspirational by his teammates.

He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1992 and went on to spend 15 years in the NFL with the Steelers, New Orleans Saints, and Kansas City Chiefs.

Since retiring in 2006, Kendall has served as Special Assistant to the President at his alma mater, Pittsburg State University. He spent 12 years on the Chiefs Radio Network broadcast team, including serving as color commentator for the team’s Super Bowl victory in 2019, and currently hosts a three-hour Chiefs pregame show on 101 The Fox.

Kendall played in Super Bowl XXX, was selected to the 2005 Pro Bowl, and has been inducted into multiple halls of fame, including the Pittsburg State University Athletics Hall of Fame (2007), the MIAA Conference Hall of Fame (2014), and the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame (2022).

An author of two books and a nationally recognized speaker, Kendall travels the country delivering his signature message on Emotional Oxygen—helping individuals and organizations stay clear, grounded, and effective under pressure. His work also focuses on mental health, emotional communication, and the power of gratitude, equipping audiences with practical tools to navigate stress, build resilience, and strengthen relationships.

He is the proud father of two sons, Blaise and Drake. Kendall and his wife, Paige, were married on February 3, 2023, and live in Weatherby Lake, Missouri.

Through his message, audiences leave with greater clarity, stronger connection, and the ability to lead themselves and others more effectively when it matters most.

Harness The Power of Emotional Strength

Success is directly proportional to the emotional strength we build, both in ourselves and in others. While the physical roles we play and the actions we take in life are important, our emotional state is the key to quality of life. In this talk, I show you how to harness your emotional strength and discover ways of improving emotional communication within yourself and with others.

SNAP Principles

We all have our own value and the ability to create rewarding relationships with customers, colleagues, friends, and family – but sometimes it’s not that easy. There are, however, four simple steps we can all take to understand and apply our emotional strength – and enable us to get what we desire out of life.

I lay out the key components of emotional strength and provide these simple, practical steps that you can use in daily interactions with customers, partners and team members. I call it the SNAP framework:

Set Goals

Notice Strengths

Accept Accountability

Practice Persistence

Developing greater emotional strength by using the SNAP framework helps people reach higher and farther than with their physical strengths alone.

How to Create Successful Connections

We have so many routes to connect with people. How do we know who to listen to? Who to trust? In the game of life, we are ultimately responsible for who we let in and who we filter out. During this talk, we’ll identify the inner circles in the three phases of life and I’ll show you how to better build strong and successful connections.

Kendall Gammon was an awesome addition to our Leadership Education and Development Group training event. We enjoyed the interactive message that he brought to the table. He has a creative delivery system that encourages two-way communication between the audience and the speaker. Kendall added value to others by using personal vulnerabilities with specific leadership skills he has learned throughout his life. It was a joy to listen to his presentation and would love to have him back again in the future.
