Hyatt Regency
With over 100 corporate Global Customers in attendance at our annual Corporate Travel Exchange at the Hyatt Regency in Lost Pines, Austin, Texas, Erik provided a farewell presentation on Friday morning that was both “in the moment” and memorable! In an hour, Erik took us through the fast and immediate world of digital communication while delivering an inspirational message on how to get noticed professionally, improve personal brand image and how to be “FLAWSOME!” through the new rules of reputation. Key take-aways included the doctoral study about checking e-mails while working on another task actually decreases your intelligence by 10 points – equivalent to not sleeping for 36 hours or smoking marijuana. This e-mail story in addition to the story that he tells about going on vacation for one week and deleting 1,400 un-read e-mails with only having eight people re-send the message after reading his “out of office” reply communicating that he was on vacation and to please re-send the e-mail upon his return confirmed the message: if you want less e-mails, send less e-mails. Over 60 global Hyatt hotel sales managers are represented at this annual conference and the story about Erik going into the NCAA office in his running clothes and following up with them through the intern interviewee that saw him in the lobby is motivational for his “Fail Fast, Fail Forward and Fail Better” philosophy in addition to being creative, persistent and confident to open more doors, make more sales and close the business! Thank you for your time and personally interacting after your presentation with each of our customers. Your time spent with us was inspirational and valuable. Video did kill the radio star!
