Kim “Daisy” was born to cook! She was taught at an early age by both her grandmothers and great aunt Daisy, after whom her company is named.

A graduate of Wofford College, Kim has been in the food business for over 30 years. Being in the food business all started while working in the kitchen and waiting tables during the summers down in Murrells Inlet and Pawleys Island, SC. She learned about peeling and chopping carrots and the “delightfully peppery” taste of watercress under the stern eye of Chef Louis Osteen at the Pawleys Island Inn. (She was probably his most challenged employee…EVER!)

After graduating from Wofford College she and friend, Sophie Copses, started a catering business. Four years later, in 1990, Kim opened her first full-service restaurant, As You Like It in Spartanburg, SC.

Cooking Up a Storm began in 1998. These hands-on, bring your own groceries cooking classes lasted 6 years and taught nearly 300 students to love, to cook, and to explore new and exciting flavors.

Kim and her mother, Geraldine Adams, actually baked and sold their first cake in 1972. It was a yellow cake with chocolate icing, what is now called our Jilly Vanilly.

Daisy Cakes began in June 2009. Kim wanted to share her family cake recipes with a much larger customer base. She and her incredible team individually hand-sift, bake and frost each 4-layer cake. Kim and her mother travel to Junior League and other holiday and food shows where folks can taste for themselves, just how delicious their Daisy Cakes are. The cakes are always available to take home or they can be ordered and shipped.

Kim and her Daisy Cakes were cast in the ABC hit show “Shark Tank” and aired in April of 2011. Since then, her business has sky-rocketed! Along with the help of her business partner, Barbara Corcoran, many opportunities have come her way. She has been on “The Nate Berkus Show”, Anderson Cooper, ABC World News, Today Show, The Queen Latifah Show, The Better Show, The Taste and QVC. Daisy Cakes have also been featured as a prize on “The Price Is Right” and “Wheel of Fortune”.

These delicious Daisy Cakes follow their blue ribbon tradition, shipped direct-from her kitchen to yours!

Her first cookbook, Daisy Cakes, Share a Slice of Love, is now available.
