Angie Moline, Ph.D. started Moline Creative for two reasons:

  • to use her visual communication and facilitation skills to help people solve complex problems, work more efficiently, and innovate more creatively, and
  • to obliterate people’s self-limiting notions of “I can’t draw” and “I am not an artist” in order to empower them to express their ideas visually.

*Fee ranges are presented as a guideline only. Speaker fees are subject to change without notice. For an exact quote, please contact your Speaker Exchange Agency representative.

Dr. Moline has used visual techniques throughout her life to try to understand and explain the world around her. Angie uses visual methods to map connections between disparate components of ecological, social, and organizational systems. She quickly assimilates and organizes new information into an intelligible framework, illustrates that framework, and helps you (her client) create an action plan for how to get it done.

Angie has energetically mapped, graphed, sketched, doodled, and drawn her way through studies in ecology, engineering, and art. She has served as a university-level educator, program innovator, and group facilitator for the past fifteen years. For more information, see Dr. Moline’s LinkedIn Profile for her professional background and IFVP profile for samples of graphic recording and facilitation work.

Visual Communication

Visual Note-Taking

Learn to take visual notes by using doodles, keywords, and info maps to diagram what you hear in meetings, class lectures, and webinars. Visual note-taking allows you to capture key points of a conversation without getting lost in the details.

Visual Thinking Workshop

Learn to organize your thinking using visual methods during this workshop. Learn to clump, cluster, expand, and illustrate ideas with simple techniques and easy-to-draw icons.

Visual Problem Solving

Visual problem solving helps you generate creative, out-of-the-box solutions to tough problems because your whole team can see solutions develop. Learn to generate creative solutions to complicated problems using sticky notes, mind maps, and visual templates during this workshop.

Visual Storytelling

The average PowerPoint slide has 75 words on it, yet an audience can only read keywords while they listen to a speaker. Don’t overwhelm your audience! Learn how to use simple visuals to support, rather than detract from, multi-media presentations.

Visual Process Mapping

Do you know where the bottlenecks are in your workflow? Visual process mapping can help you see the steps that need to be done to manufacture a product, deliver a service, or start a revolution. Join Moline Creative for this introduction to visual process mapping.

Visual Thinking & Communication for Scientists

Visual tools, such as doodles, graphs, diagrams, and visual templates, help scientists think through the research design process, interpret and understand their results, and communicate their findings. This interactive workshop will provide an overview of visual thinking and communication tools for research scientists and science students.

Visual Teaching (a.ka. Doodling in Class)

Technology has given teachers the ability to prepare slide decks for lectures, show videos in class, and sometimes overwhelm students with too much information. Visual teaching helps you go back to the drawing board using techniques, such as doodling, writing keywords, and mapping the flow of information to allow students to better retain and recall class material.
